Lochmere is a large Planned Unit Development in the south of Cary, off of Kildaire Farm Road.  With about 1,300 homes, it is one of the largest communities in the area.  Lochmere is divided into a number of neighborhoods, and each one has a certain individual character. 

Lochmere has been planned to be a "lifestyle" community, with four lakes, eight miles of walking trails, a park, children's playgrounds, volleyball, two clubhouses which can be rented and much more.  There are two pools, two tennis court areas and a golf course, all of which are available for optional membership.

Homes in Lochmere range from townhomes and cluster homes, to a wide range of single-family neighborhoods.  Lochmere is very well-maintained, and its appearance is typically very calm and pleasant.
